In Style increased its single-copy sales by six percent in the last six months. No small feat considering sales across hundreds of other magazine titles dropped significantly. Managing editor Ariel Foxman credits a blend of inspirational and actionable entertainment for the boost. As an example of “actionable” entertainment, In Style has struck an exclusive partnership with the Gilt
Groupe, the members-only online shopping outlet that offers sales on
designer merchandise. The partnership will allow In Style readers to
view sales on selected Gilt items on instyle.com
up to seven days in advance of their scheduled sale date. It is hard to believe after all this time so many fashion publications still slap up repurposed content and call themselves interactive. In Style (and People too) stay a few steps ahead of their industry peers and their circulation reflects that. Oh - and Sandra Bullock looks fantastic! WWD
