Forbes Magazine recently declared that “Lady Gaga isn’t the music
industry’s new Madonna. She’s its new business model.” According to Business of Fashion, Lady Gaga may very well be revolutionizing the fashion business as well through her creative use of traditional and digital media. Last Saturday night she performed Bad Romance on the wildly popular British show X Factor dressed in Gareth Pugh Spring/Summer 2007 giving the designer mass exposure in front of an audience of 13 million viewers (not including YouTube). Since the Bad Romance video was launched on YouTube on November 10th it has been viewed more than 30 million times. She Tweets (and crashes servers), Facebooks (a recent tweet about a pre-meet the queen dinner garnished 11,410 likes) and judges contests on Polyvore. She gets it. Maybe she should write a social media white paper? It would be nice to read one with a little spice to it. Check our her performance on X Factor on YouTube and read the whole story on Business of Fashion
