FEED, Lauren Bush's organization, has joined forces with Barnes & Noble to produce an exclusive new FEED/Read tote bag. The bags are priced at $24.95 and sales will provide three school lunches and three Room to Read children's books for children in Nepal. The bags will land in stores in September.

Why are designer's drawn to the 80's? Designer Maripol explains in this great quote in the latest issue of T Magazine. What she says could be applied to the social media phenomena.

"That was the last era when there was a sense of freedom and do-it-yourself spirit, " Maripol says. "Style wasn't laid out, You didn't have to be a millionaire to start something, and you didn't need to have P.R. to talk to somebody - there was no need to hide behind walls of communication."

vanessa trashed the dress

When my recently married friend Vanessa told me  she was going to trash her wedding dress for fun I was a bit taken back. Why on earth would she do such a thing? Apparently, "trash the dress" is a new trend in wedding photography that offers a bride an edgy alternative for the dress after the wedding. And according to Vanessa, it was a lot of fun and huge release after all the inevitable stress that goes into planning and executing a wedding (hers was beautiful!)
