Online luxury retailer Net-a-porter has teamed with designer Alexander McQueen for a one-of-a-kind catwalk show that gives online users a a virtual front row seat at a McQueen collection. Eight looks from the designer's pre-spring 2009 collection are being shown online and are available for immediate purchase. This means, of course, that you can begin assembling your spring 2009 wardrobe, only seven days after the official end of summer 2008, and before it is actually cool enough to wear your fall 2008 clothes. Get with the program! In all sincerity, the online show is fantastic and worth checking out. It's only a matter of time before the shows cease to exist. With modern technology they are no longer necessary and downright excessive and far from environmentally sound. Source: International Herald Tribune.
