how far would you go for love?

According to legend lovers will spend their lives together if they write their names on a padlock, clamp it to a bridge and throw the key in the river below. Although considered vandalism in many cities the tradition remains throughout Europe. I came across these locks on the pedestrian bridge facing The Cathedral of Christ the Savior on the Moskva River in Russia in October. At the time I did not know the tradition’s origins but it was obvious it was a romantic gesture. It brings to mind the Cartier LOVE Bracelet. The LOVE jewelry collection debuted in the seventies and was designed to represent enduring love because each piece is securely fastened to the person who wears it with a tiny screw. An equally tiny screwdriver is required to open and close it. Ads for the bracelet ask How far would you go for love? My husbands response to this is "not to the poor house". Maybe he will change his mind. The collection also includes rings, necklaces, earrings and cuff links. At Cartier. Pictured here: the view from the bridge, padlocks and a love message.

Not to the poor house! HA! Maybe this collection will get my husband to rethink that one!
Love it!

The Cartier Love collection would be an interesting gift for Valentine's Day. My husband's response would have been similar to your husband's.
Lovely pictures and a lovely post.
Cheers
