What do root beer and denim have in common? Nothing really. But when I was a child I had a scratch-and-sniff book that when rubbed gave off the aroma of a frosted mug taste. So when I recently read in WWD that Spanish denim line Cimarron has introduced scratch-and-sniff denim for fall my thoughts immediately went to root beer. But this is the 21st century and no one drinks root beer anymore. Cimarron’s scratch-and-sniff line consists of denim bottoms, shorts, jackets and skirts and is available in four neon colors – yellow (lemon), orange (mandarin), green (mint) and pink (berry). The denim does not smell all the time - only when rubbed. It is an interesting use of technology. Although I have to say it is far less annoying then some of the modern technology out there.
